Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM) / Human Development Index (HDI) adalah pengukuran perbandingan dari harapan hidup (IHP), melek huruf (ALI), pendidikan (GER) dan standar hidup (PDB) untuk semua negara seluruh dunia. IPM digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan apakah sebuah negara adalah negara maju, negara berkembang atau negara terbelakang dan juga untuk mengukur pengaruh dari kebijaksanaan ekonomi terhadap kualitas hidup.
Nilai Indek Pembangunan Manusia yang terbaik adalah mendekati angka 1, demikian sebaliknya nilai Indeks Pembangunan Manusia yang terburuk adalah mendekati angka 0.
